It was our pleasure to collaborate with NTU MESD (Maritime Energy & Sustainable Development) to conduct a seminar as part of the 23rd edition of SIBCON in Singapore.
Our seminar, focused on Fuel EU Maritime compliance with financial modelling to optimise total cost of fuel utilisation, was designed to provide our participants with an understanding of the need, the realisms, and the crucial methods of calculating energy savings and carbon emissions.
Through in-depth examination of EU Legislative material and practical calculation exercises/scenarios, our experts showcased how complying to meet Fuel EU Maritime targets can result in lower overall costs.
NTU MESD shared their experiences and data from experiments, which monitor Biofuel characteristic changes over time. They spoke about Methanol and Ammonia as a marine fuel including the properties and characteristic such as hazards, flame velocity and more. The methodologies employed for risk evaluation and accident simulation provided interesting insights.
We shared a BioFuel bunkering checklist with participants to enhance operational readiness for BioFuel trials. Additionally, we provided updates on conventional fuel quality trends, including troubleshooting methods using the latest Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) testing. Recommendations for resolving quality disputes were also discussed, emphasising a systematic approach to managing charter party challenges effectively.
